Taxing Guns Out of Existence
Recently, the Northern Mariana’s Island made into law a $1,000 per gun tax. This follows the recent actions of Seattle’s 2016 imposition of a $25 per gun tax. The 2nd Amendment makes it hard to get rid of guns completely, but maybe taxing the heck out of them will further enhance the gun control movement!
More Guns Is Not the Solution
Is it just to say that arming more people will be the solution in order to protect against criminal activity? We must enact stricter regulations instead of adding more guns in order to insure the protection of society. Simply having a “sane” person fight a “non sane” person is just adding fuel to the fire and causing more insanity. We must not allow the public to be armed to prevent violence, we must prevent violence by not allowing such criminals to get their hands on such weaponry.
Payton Speaks Out on Ex-NFL Star’s Death
Just a few short days ago former NFL star Will Smith’s life was taken after he was shot and killed in New Orleans following a traffic accident. His former coach and still head coach of the New Orleans Saints was very upset and frustrated over the incident. He took some time to lash out on the loose gun control laws that currently govern this country. In addition, he spoke that their needs to be change in the city of New Orleans regarding gun violence and crime.
Mayor Bloomberg spends big money on gun control.
This Chicago Tribune article refers to former New York mayor who planned to spend $50 million dollars to organize voters for gun control. The group is called, Everytown for Gun Safety. They plant to focus on harder background checks for buying guns.

White Resentment Fueling Opposition to Gun Control
Researchers from political scientists at the University of Illinois at Chicago have shown that racial prejudice could play a significant role to the opposition of gun control. The gun control debate in recent years has become more of a racially fueled argument than it should be. The research showed that whites were significantly less likely to support gun control measures when they had recently seen pictures of black people. The prejudice is based on the belief that blacks don’t value independence and hard work so instead they push for special rights conferred by the government.
Gun Control Will Never Happen in a Democracy
The recent bombings in Brussels and Paris has brought the number of terrorist attacks to more than 70 in the last six months and all of them do not involve a gun, but instead bombs. Clearly the choice weapon for a terrorist attack is a bomb and bombs kill more people than guns ever will. If the government wants to band guns, then they should ban bombs and have a legislation on bomb control right? This article explains that a real democracy wouldn’t fear its people owning guns.
